The main object of "All India Cantonment Resident Owners Welfare Association" shall be to improve the welfare of all residents of 62 Cantonments in India.
In furtherance of this mission, the Association shall make no distinction whatsoever of race, creed, religion, sex or economic status, extending its support and services to all alike, to the limits of the Association’s ability, serving all needy residents of all Cantonments on a need basis.
To establish a common denominator to the scattered and isolated residents of all Cantonments so that they might come together and discuss their problems and find common solutions.
Since it is the stated purpose that the Cantonments Act 2006 was enacted to impart greater democratic values in the functioning of Cantonments, the Association shall collectively articulate the views of the residents of all Cantonments both in the Bungalow and the Bazaar Areas. To collectively represent and help solve any outstanding problems that the residents of all Cantonments may be having with civic and other authorities. The Association shall in particular conduct it own activities, in pursuit of its objects, in a manner which is socially, environmentally and otherwise in conformity with the ethical and philosophical foundations of its broader mission and objectives, and in consonance with both the values of our Indian Constitution and with basic humanitarian imperatives. All objects, activities and power set out for the Association here in above are independent of each other and no clause hereof is to be regarded as incidental or subsidiary to another clause. Any of the provisions set out herein above found to be at variance with any law for the time being in force shall be deemed to be ‘non- est’, without affecting in any manner the validity of the Association or any of its other objectives, activities or powers.
The purpose of the Association shall be to: i) build a bond between residents of all Cantonments so as to enrich their social and cultural lives. ii) reach out to all economic, social and otherwise deprived sections of all Cantonment’s population and to span the differences so that these groups may reenter the mainstream of our Association. iii) promote public awareness of the problem that the residents of all Cantonments face as well as of the Association’s efforts to ameliorate them. iv) undertake such other activities as may, in the opinion of the Association, be considered necessary or useful to the achievement of any or any all of the objects of the Association. v) maintain and operate current and savings accounts, and invest money not immediately required for the purpose of the Association in any manner deemed expedient, and, in particular, in term deposits with banks, Central or State Government undertakings or in Government securities. With the Association in place, we shall be better equipped to tackle the problems in all cantonments and look forward to your enthusiastic co-operation in solving these problems. Your ideas and suggestions regarding some of the more serious problems are eagerly solicited.
